Carolyn J White

Carolyn J. White was born to the late Jasper R. and Emily Ogle on August 29, 1943, in Nicholasville, Kentucky. On April 05, 2026, she went home to be with her personal Savior in the Hospice Unit at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. As a child, Carolyn attended Sunday School every week at Marble Creek Missionary Baptist Church during her childhood. At an early age, Carolyn accepted Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Nicholasville. She faithfully served her church in many areas including as a choir member, the Van Committee, the Culinary Ministry for 25 years, and in her later years, Wednesday night meals for the Youth & Children and the Widow’s Ministry. Carolyn was educated in her early years at Dunbar in Nicholasville and graduated high school from Lincoln Institute, now known as Whitney Young, in Shelbyville. Later she received a certificate from Fugazzi Business College. Carolyn retired from the Jessamine County Transportation Department after 28 years of service as a school bus driver. On December 2, 1961, she was blessed to marry the love of her life, the late William “Billy” White, and to this union four children were born. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her brothers, William J. and Lawrence “Joe” Ogle, and her sister, Mary L. Knox. Carolyn leaves to cherish her member Jasper Demont White, Fonda Brow (Timothy) Walker, Geetha White (Kevin) Thomas and Lana Carol Rowland, who will all cherish her memory. Also left to cherish her memory are eight grandchildren, Perry T. and Shaquilla L. Brown, Culpepper, VA, Lawrence C. White, Harris County, TX, Elisabeth and Emily White, Lexington, Braxton L. Higgins, Nicholasville, and Evan E. Thomas, Lexington; five great-grandchildren, Niah, Kienlee, and Isaiah Brown, Broadway, VA, Julian Brown, Grottaes, VA, and Zane Higgins, Nicholasville; two sisters-in-law, Jerri McCormick and Hestella White; and her sister-friends who she loved so much, George Ann Dunn, Laura Mimms, Anna “Poochie” Richardson, Ann Walker and Linda McIntyre. She had many others that she adopted into her family, Rena Ward, Roxie T. Young, Monica Houp Herring, and the late Kathy Fee Kaba, to name a few. Carolyn will also be remembered by a whole host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other friends.
