Dorothy Stallard Huskey Durham

Dorothy Stallard Huskey Durham, 69, was born on July 27, 1951 in Frankfort, Kentucky. The ninth child out of eleven to the late Joseph Henry and Florence Scott Stallard. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Huskey and William Durham; one stepdaughter, Geraldine Hines; a granddaughter, Karen Brooks; three brothers, William Joseph Stallard, John Russell Stallard and James Allen Stallard; one sister, Sarah Francis Hughlett; one niece, Michele Stallard; and one nephew, Paul R. Stallard. At a young age, Dorothy confessed a hope in Christ and joined First Baptist Church, Frankfort, Kentucky. Later in her life, she moved her letter to Shiloh Baptist Church, Lexington, Kentucky. Dorothy grew up in the Bridgeport Community in Franklin County where she enjoyed the sport of softball with her sisters and friends. She attended Rosenwald Laboratory School until the 6th grade and began the 7th grade at Bridgeport Middle. Her next school was Franklin County High, where after graduation she worked in the school office. She began her career with Kentucky State Government while also attending Kentucky State University for two years. In 1973, she moved to Louisville, KY and worked for the State of Kentucky and the City of Louisville (Metro Parks & Recreation). After 17 years in Louisville, she returned to Frankfort with her family and worked for Kentucky State Government (Department of Agriculture). After 25 years of service with the State Government, she retired in 2008. After retiring from civil service, she worked at Furniture Liquidators. She loved to take care of her family and others. She would do whatever she needed to make sure they were well taken care of even if it meant changing her living situation. She also loved to shop for herself as well as others. While residing in Louisville, she opened her home up to children in her neighborhood and women with small children needing assistance while getting on their feet. The children would call her Aunt Dot, Miss Dot or Granny. She would take them on fishing and road trips, letting them be kids, but they had to follow the same rules as her own children. She leaves to mourn her passing, two sons, Phillip Stallard (Shaun) Louisville, KY and Timothy Stallard (CaSandra) Frankfort, KY; five granddaughters, Imaria Stallard Memphis, TN, Florence Stallard Chattanooga, TN, Tamia Stallard Frankfort, KY, Kamyra Cooks Memphis, TN and Stephanie Aguilar (Antonio) Shelbyville, KY; five grandsons, Timothy Stallard Jr. Frankfort, KY, LaMarcus, Kendrick & Cameron Cooks Memphis, TN, and Brian Scott Randolph Louisville, KY; 14 great-grandchildren, Brianna Jordan, Jayden Jordan, Samia Joy White, Sydney LaShae White, Nevaeh LaShae Cooks, LaMarcus Lamar Cooks Jr., Malik Lamar Cooks, Phoenix LaShae Cooks, Major Lamar Cooks, McKenzie LaShae Cooks, Antonia Mario Aguilar, Jordan Tyler Mitchel, Amelia Isabella Aguilar and Victoria Leigh Aguilar; several grandchildren-in-love, Christopher & Dion Crawford, Dalevon Robinson and Rosan Redding; four brothers, Clarence Edward (Lucy) Frankfort, KY, George Albert (Hazel) Lexington, KY, Ernest Lee (Frankie) Frankfort, KY and ????; two sisters, Anna Josephine Shaw Lexington, KY and Mary Elizabeth Rodgers Memphis, TN; two sisters-in-law, Joann Raleigh, NC and Carrie Frankfort, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
