Otha Thomas Robinson

Otha Thomas Robinson, known as OT, was born on April 4, 1946, to the late William and Sallie (Carroll) Robinson. He transitioned to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Brenda (Smith) Robinson: daughter, Tessical Jean Robinson; and one son, Otha Thomas Robinson; five brothers, Robert Clayborn, William Jr., James and Jackie Robinson, and William Cobb; and two sisters, Nicola and Delbrocka Robinson. OT accepted Christ at an early age and was a member at Gospel Word Missionary Church where he served as an usher and many of times helped to ensure the upkeep of the House of Worship. He was a faithful servant. He worked for the City of Nicholasville for thirty-three years in the Water Department, as a plumber, which also included duties to assist the Nicholasville Fire Department for eighteen years whenever there was a fire. He knew of every water hole in the town, as well as spent a lot of time down in them and digging holes--faster than any machine could do during that time. OT was a very quiet, humble, and kind man who usually worked behind the scenes. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing, but to many in the community he was well known for cooking the best "cornbread" all around. He also played on the Rated X Softball Team. OT had many talents and knowledge about things that others did not know he had. He did a lot of tasks for others who did not want to do themselves, especially as it related to plumbing, cleaning fish, wild meats, and cooking. He was the person that many people depended on, and at times, did not receive the appreciation he so greatly deserved, but receiving accolades did not matter to him. OT did everything out of love and expected nothing in return. He leaves to cherish his memories, his son Chancellor L. Robinson; three grandsons, Isaiah, Thomas H., and Zachary; five granddaughters, Taylor, Tessa, Jessica, Destiny, and Dynasty; one great grandson, Lonnie; three great granddaughters, Zaniyah, Layla, and Vision; one brother, Nathaniel (Mary) Robinson; one sister, Geraldine Robinson; five brother-in-law Carl, Joseph, Dennis, and Charles Mitchell Smith; six sister-in-law, Jennifer, Donna, Dortha, Rose, Charlotte Smith, and Anna (Smith) Kenion; one aunt Juanita White; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
