Taryn Monique Henderson

January 3, 1978 – June 01,2026 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7 On June 01, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends, Taryn Monique Henderson, (otherwise known as Mousey) peacefully entered eternal rest. Born on January 3, 1978, in Paducah, Kentucky, Taryn lived a life lead by God, marked by strength, intelligence, humor, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Charles Eugene Henderson and Linda Henderson; her daughter, Alyssa Monique Henderson; her sisters, Astarre' Dawn Gudino and Ebone' Charles Henderson; her four nephews, Jerin Anderson Polk, Diego Gudino-Ramirez, Christopher Dominique Wilson, and Bryce Anthony Smith, her adopted sister and lifelong best friend, Natachae Townsley Jones (Briana, Terrin, Phillip, Kelly and Kendal); and her chosen son, Jaylin Dawaun Morris (Katrina). She also leaves behind a host of loved and cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by her love, wisdom, and friendship. Taryn was many things to many people. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, godmother, mentor, and friend. But to those who knew her best, she was something even more special—she was the family's manager, organizer, financial advisor, and self-appointed CEO. If there was a problem to solve, a bill to balance, a plan to make, or a decision to be made, everyone knew exactly who to call, if daddy didn't answer. Taryn always had an answer, a strategy, and usually a little sarcasm to go with it. Known affectionately as "the boss," Taryn had a quick wit and a sharp sense of humor that could light up any room. She had a gift for telling the truth in a way that made people laugh, think, and sometimes squirm all at the same time. Her personality was larger than life, and even as she faced illness, her humor, determination, and spirit never faded. In her final days, she remained strong, funny, opinionated, and full of love. Above all else, Taryn loved her family. Her greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Alyssa Monique Henderson. Professionally, Taryn built a remarkable legacy of service. For more than twenty years, she faithfully served the Commonwealth of Kentucky in various capacities. Through her dedication, intelligence, and leadership, she earned the respect of colleagues throughout state government. She concluded her distinguished career with KY STATS, where she managed executive finances. Her commitment to growth and achievement extended beyond her career. Taryn earned both her Bachelor's Degree and Master of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. Most importantly, Taryn was a woman of faith. As a devoted member of Perfecting Praise under the leadership of Senior Pastor LaRonTanksley, she found strength, encouragement, and purpose in her relationship with God. She worked faithfully as the Director of Finance for many years. Through every season of life—the victories, the disappointments, the celebrations, and the battles, her faith remained an anchor. While our hearts are broken by her absence, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and lessons she gave us. We will remember her voice, her jokes, her honesty, her wisdom, and the way she made everyone around her feel stronger simply by being there. A Lesson from Taryn's Life Taryn taught us that strength is not measured by the challenges we face but by the way we face them. She showed us how to laugh through difficulties, how to love without conditions, and how to be present for the people who matter most. Her life reminds us that the greatest legacy we leave behind is not what we accumulate, but the lives we touch and the love we give. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will remain in every family gathering, every shared laugh, every piece of advice passed down, and every act of love inspired by her example.
